Lawrence J. “Larry” Eyler, died on April 18, 2024, in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Larbo was born Jan. 16, 1936, in Fort Madison, to Keith and Florence Eyler. 

He lived and attended school in Burlington.  He played football at BHS and Junior College. He joined the Iowa National Guard and then the U.S. Army where he served two years in France.

After service, he returned to Burlington and worked for the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. Larbo continued his education at Western Illinois University where he received his degree in Education.

Daughters Kristen and Kim were born in Simi Valley, Calif. They settled in Simi Valley where Larbo taught in the Los Angeles school system. Larbo owned several businesses in Simi Valley while teaching high school. He and Lou Ann divorced and Larbo retired from teaching.  He moved to Cape Girardeau, Mo. where he married Agnes Liley and helped raise her family, William, Laura, Joanna and Ashley.

Larbo operated several businesses. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles with the Warchild Biking Group for years. He lived a very full and active life and made many, many close friends. He was always busy with fixing up property or the many possessions that he owned and enjoyed. William became Larbo’s companion and part-time caregiver.

Larbo is survived by daughter Kristin in California; step-son William Riley in Cape Girardeau and his three “girl” dogs.

Larbo was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Kim.  

Per his wishes cremation has been accorded.  Inurnment will be with his parents in Aspen Grove Cemetery Burlington.
