Donald L. “Donnie” Jones, 71, of Burlington, died Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, at his home.
Born Nov. 12, 1952, in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of John and Vivian E. Jones.
He worked for Tyson Foods in Columbus Junction for the past several years.
Donnie will be sorely missed by his family and especially his dog Lady, who was always by his side and his faithful friend. He was funny, full of life and loved watching old movies and listening to “his” music. Most important to him was his time spent with his family.
He is survived by his children; Demitrius Jones and Jasmine Nicole Jones both of Chicago, Ill.; five grandchildren; one sister Sandra Glaspie of Rockford, Ill. and nieces, nephews, and special cousin Gwen Appleberry.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Linda Jones.
A celebration of life will be held 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, May 4 at Lunning Chapel.
Cremation has been accorded and entrusted to the care of Lunning Chapel.
